Management

The management of GTS consists of:

Jeroen Zanting - Managing director Gasunnie Transport Services

Jeroen Zanting studied chemical engineering at the University of Groningen. He began his career at Gasunie in 2000 in the R&D department, followed by various staff and management positions. In 2011, he became terminal manager of the newly constructed LNG import terminal (Gate Terminal, Rotterdam). From 2016 to 2023, Jeroen was responsible for gas transport, network planning, and asset management at (GTS). After several years leading Gasunie's non-regulated activities, such as the LNG terminals, interconnectors, gas storage, and renewable energy projects, he returned to the field of methane transport and has been appointed Managing Director of GTS.

Marijn Dresden - Assets & Operations

Marijn Dresden studied Technical Business Administration at the University of Groningen and Mechanical Engineering at Hanze University Groningen. From 2007 to early 2016, he fulfilled several positions at GasTerra in the areas of business analysis, strategy and natural gas sales and he managed of the ICT Operations department. Marijn joined Gasunie in 2016 and held various management positions in the Operations unit. In 2022, he transferred to Gasunie Transport Services where he became responsible for the Asset Development & Planning department.

In October 2025, Marijn was appointed manager Assets & Operations.

Gea Paas Broekman - Business Control

Gea Paas Broekman completed various studies at the University of Groningen, including the postgraduate accountancy program and the 'Executive Master of Finance & Control' (RC program). After working at one of the larger accounting firms for several years, she held various controller positions at Gasunie from 2004, worked as a sales specialist and as manager Treasury Front Office.

In her current role, Gea and her team are responsible for Business, Finance & Project Control.

Joris Bongenaar - Gastransport

Joris Bongenaar studied Business Administration at the Hanze University of Applied Sciences and followed a post-bachelor's degree in ICT consultancy at the Technical University of Applied Sciences Rijswijk. Since 2009, he has held various management roles within Gasunie, focusing on team management, the realisation of complex projects and the initiation of innovation. In addition, he was chairman of the Cable and Pipelines Consultation (KLO) for four years.

In his current position, Joris is responsible for the safe and efficient transport of gas within the Netherlands and to and from neighbouring countries.

David Bakker - Customer & Market Development

In 2010, David completed his studies in International Organizations and Relations at the University of Groningen, specializing in The Political Economy of Energy. That same year, he joined Gasunie and has since held various substantive and managerial positions, primarily in the areas of Market & Regulation and Business Development.In his current role,

David is responsible for the departments of Market Development & Regulation, Network Planning, and Customer & Service.
