GTS is organizing a market session on February 6
We are organizing an informative market session via Teams on February 6, 2024 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM. In this session we will provide an explanation of the annual letter regarding the necessary production from the Groningen field, our vision on security of supply and an adapted procedure in the event of a possible problem relating to quality conversion (QC).
The annual letter regarding the necessary production from the Groningen field contains a security of supply analysis in which GTS outlines the developments for the next few gas years and indicates how security of supply can be guaranteed with minimal use of the Groningen field. The Ministry of Economic Affairs is expected to decide to close the field as of October 1, 2024. Because Russian gas is no longer imported into Northwestern Europe and the demand for LNG is greater than the LNG supply, it is questionable whether security of supply is sufficiently guaranteed for now and in the future. GTS has therefore developed a vision on security of supply. We will explain our vision during the market session.
Now that the Groningen field is closing, we have also looked at the way in which we provide instructions in the event of a QC problem (which occurs sporadically in practice). Should such a situation arise, potentially all shippers with a position in a G/L storage facility will be involved in solving the QC problem. We will also explain this further in the market session.
You can register via this form and will then receive a link to the Teams session.
