GTS Publishes Resilience Analysis
Gasunie Transport Services (GTS) has published a resilience analysis on the robustness of the European and Dutch gas systems in the event of prolonged disruptions to gas supply.
The analysis shows that the Netherlands and Europe are well prepared for common supply security situations, but remain vulnerable in the event of a disruption to gas supply lasting several months. To manage such a scenario, additional measures are required, including the creation of an emergency reserve by making part of the cushion gas in existing gas storage facilities conditionally available for use.
According to GTS, this measure is necessary to better protect the Netherlands against prolonged geopolitical disruptions, sabotage, or international supply issues.
