Introduction of G-Gas Storage Cluster

From the 13th of October G-gas storages will be part of the G-gas storage cluster, which will have a cluster capacity covering the G-gas storages (refer to the table below). Due to a declining G/L gas market and GTS’s limited RQC sources, it is becoming more challenging to accommodate high Entry G/L-Gas volumes.
The G-gas storage cluster is therefore necessary to implement, this to ensure the maximum Entry capacity of all G-gas storages is aligned with market demand during warmer winter months. With this measure GTS can avoid emergency measures and prevent possible market disruptions.

What is Changing?

All G-gas storages will be placed under this G-gas storage cluster point. As a result, the bookable Entry capacity at the relevant storage point will also depend on booking behavior at other storages within the cluster. For Exit capacity from G-gas storages, no common restriction will be imposed.

The total technical capacity of the cluster will be determined on a monthly and daily basis, based on the expected market demand and temperature.

Capacity requests can be submitted at the current network points and will be automatically processed via Prisma under the First Come First Serve (FCFS) principle where possible. If requests for firm capacity falls within the available cluster capacity, the capacity will be automatically granted. Requests exceeding this will be rejected. Shippers also have the option to book Interruptible capacity in accordance with the current method.
